Slow in here (aka Toho's Puzzles)

I gave up on that one.  There's a fine line between challenging and frustrating and when I found myself deliberately looking for something else to do other than work on it I realized that puzzle crossed the line.

Started this one instead:

Puzzle 1, Toho 0.

This new one looks pretty cool.

Finished it.  That was easy.

I would've thought the top left would bedifficult.

ANy new puzzles lately

I'm working on one that's taking a lot longer than I thought it would. It's pictures of a bunch of cats perched among a bunch of famous quotes about cats. Part of it is my ever-crappier eyesight and part of it is that even though I've had a lot of time off lately I've been busy with other things. I'm off all next week so hopefully I'll get this one finished and post a picture.

Finished it Saturday.  I tried to get close enough so you could read some of the sayings but no such luck.  One of my favorites is "Long ago cats were worshipped as gods.  They have never forgotten this." There's also a caption under each cat telling what breed it is. The one in the upper right is a Havana Brown. I used to have one of those and not to play favorites but that was the best cat I ever had.

Here's Godiva.  She used to stick her long tongue out all the time.  When I sent this pic to my brother he turned her into Gene Simmons.



She was a Havana Brown that was rescued from an unlicensed cat breeder.

The puzzle looks like it was a little easier than some you have done.

That's what I thought when I saw it but it was harder than I expected. Part of the problem was all the words; my eyesight is so bad that I had to put the word pieces right under my nose to be able to figure out which pieces went together.

Do you wear glasses

Yep. And I have since 2nd grade. But when I had an exam for this latest pair of glasses last Fall, as the doctor was testing my right eye I kept saying "still blurry". He finally said "Sorry but there's only so much we can do".

maybe find a new eye dr.

This was a new one. I got the same kind of reaction from the last 2. So I guess there really is only so much they can do.

I love wolves. I see them from time to time when I go up north in the summers.

Not for this.  The root cause is actually a birth defect; an underdeveloped ocular nerve in my right eye.  So I had bad eyesight even when I had "young eyes", add in the normal deterioration due to aging and it's just really bad now.

That definitely sucks. You can see clearly out of the left eye though?

Well, clear-ER.  Actually, about 15 years ago I had 20/25 vision in the left eye with contacts.  It's not even close to that now but definitely better than the right eye.

Finished the wolf puzzle last night. Surprisingly the snow and tree sections were relatively easy, it was the wolves that were the last thing I finished.

Nowhere. I don't have any more wall space. I already broke it up and started a new one.

I also ordered 5 new ones yesterday that already came today. One of them I ordered because it was a little bit of a change of pace for me, a zebra drinking from a river in the jungle. What I didn't know when I ordered it is that it's billed as "the worlds smallest jigsaw puzzle". You should see the pieces of this thing, they're about 1/4" square. I may have to save that one for after my cataract surgery.
