Toho and I have really enjoyed the two songs these guys have released. It's certainly different. Their first album is coming out this summer. It also says they are touring the US and Canada. If by some chance they come here, I am definitely going to be there.




For anyone who hasn't heard their music, here are the two songs they released.

If I was in the right mood I could listen to this all night!

It's definitely a mood thing.  But I find their music oddly "catchy".  I've always been a sucker for stuff with tribal rhythms and this music has that in spades.  I like the weird instruments too; I assume they're Mongolian.

Plus I think those 2 videos are spectacular; they spent a lot of money on those.

BTW, the vocals are "Mongolian throat singing".

I will definitely be picking up the new album when it comes out.

My neighbors already stare at me when I pull into my driveway blaring Therion or Dropkick Murphys. Just wait until I pop this puppy in; "You think my music is weird? Check this out!"

Yeah Therion would definitely make the neighbors turn their heads.

And you are right about those videos; they are amazing quality.

A new song

That one's not as good as the first two; it's way more repetitive.  It's not bad though.

I listened to it a few times, I can't remember exactly. But I like it more than I did on first listen.

This one's a little more mellow and relaxing, but I like it.

The Wolf Totem and Yuve Yuve Yu videos are VERY well done. For the Yuve Yuve Yu video, they said "We travelled over five thousand kilometres in 14 days to Western Mongolia off roads to make the music video. There were times we were freezing on top of a high mountains or sweating in the desert. We wanted to show the world the beautiful nature of Mongolia."

Just bought the Amazon download of "The Gereg". 

I don't know that I'll ever listen to the thing all the way through but sprinkle in a song here and there on "random" and I dig it.  A lot.

 I think we all had the same initial reaction Eilene but there's just something about it.   It has "metal attitude" and sounds "metal" without actually being "metal" musically speaking.

I'm going to have to get that one.
