Yes, I remember him.

The Blue Jays threw up another dud of the game yesterday. Jamie Garcia pitched a scoreless inning, and he was the only pitcher not to give up or run. They lost 10-5.

In positive news, Grichuk hit his 15th home run. He's actually hhas a pretty good stat line and has been hitting over .300 since returning from the DL a couple months ago.

Speaking of great stat lines, Vladimir Guerrero has played 8 games in AAA so far and is hitting .455 AVG, .581 OBP, .682 SLG, 1.262 OPS, with 8 walks and only 2 strikeouts. The 2019 season can't come soon enough.

I saw most of that on MLB Central this morning. They showed Grichuk's homer and Guerrero's in AAA.

Matt Carpenter continued to be as hot as any hitter I've ever seen as he hit his 31st homer last night and STL beat Florida 7-1. Carpenter's stats since mid-May when he was batting .146 are just insane.

Thru Tuesday's game:

Carpenter was hitting .145/.294/.282 on May 15. He has hit .334/.434/.714 with 28 home runs in the 75 games since. This from a player who vowed in Spring Training "not to chase the home run," whose previous career high OPS was .885. It is .987, higher than any NL hitter.

Wow, that's quite a turnaround. It makes you wonder what clicked.

This is interesting. It also shows the extent to which they keep records and stats.

Wow. They really do keep track of everything in baseball.

I'm watching Greg Holland be Greg Holland but at least he's not doing it directly St. Louis anymore. He just walked in the go ahead run for the Cubs in the 7th inning so he's still hurting us though.

Carpenter just hit his 32nd homer to put STL up 4-0 over the Royals.

This guy is just soooo locked in right now it's unbelievable.

The final was 7-0. On the local morning sports report they said the last time Carpenter failed to reach base in a game was all the way back on July 7. That's pretty amazing; he's reached base in every game for over a month.

Today with Tyson Ross making his debut start for the Cardinals, he's now the 150th different starter Molina has caught since 2004.

Cards swept the Royals and have now won 5 series in a row and 5 games in a row. Nats in STL tomorrow night.

It's amazing how he has become so completely inept this season.

I read that he leads the league in homers. That's a pretty good chance he ends up with over 40.

Wow, that's phenomenal. I wonder what the record for that is.

I was away at the lake for the weekend, so I didn't have to watch the Jays fumble through a series against Tampa.

The only Jays-related things I found interesting about the weekend are: two of the Jays' top 10 prospects, Sean Reid-Foley (RHP) and Danny Jansen (C), are making their debut on Monday. It's about time they started seeing what these young guys can do. The other interesting thing is that Guerrero homered four games in a row.

I doubt it will happen. Despite teams saying they are not doing it, they seem to "manipulate service time" with players they deem as future superstars.

He was named the International League hitter of the week.
