I've tried to like this band but they just seem too mired in 80s hair metal to me.  Same thing with Crazy Lixx and some of the other Scandanavian "sleaze metal" bands.  I guess I need more of a "punk" edge to it or something.

The only Reckless Love song I ever really dug was this one, I think it's because I like the tribal rhythms:

:-D

I have never gotten into Reckless Love. They are too cheesy for me.

I love some original 80īs bands though. And with original I mean the bands that really are from there. Many of these new bands trying to capture the sound just... they just donīt know how to do it.

Exactly.  And to be honest I'm not sure anyone SHOULD capture that 80s sound.  Let's face it, that was a kind of music that just fit the times.  It's sort of like trying to recapture the disco sounds of the 70s; bands might be able to do it but why?

To ask why? is always important.

There are some artists that are doing new music and taking some elements from the past. But it is not just capturing the sound or the image, it is taking some that is good in the past while creating new - evolution.

I think that's why my "sleaze" music tastes lean more toward the "barroom, honky tonk"- style of sleaze like The Quireboys, Dogs D'Amour and my favorite band of all Diamond Dogs.  That style just doesn't age - you can't really tell if it was recorded last week or 30 years ago.  Unlike music like Reckless Love which just seems to be trying to revive the past.
