I thought I'd start a thread where we could post videos of remakes that are far superior to the originals. I'll start off with a few.

Disturbed > The Sound of Silence

This one just gives me the chills. Love the video too.

Johnny Cash > Hurt
Another one that gives me the chills.

Wow!  That's a great cover!  That's the most range I've ever heard the Disturbed singer display; I had no idea. He can actually sing something besides the usual Disturbed "low, higher, low, higher, grunt, grunt, grunt" vocal style.

What album is that from?

I have an obvious choice for this thread.

Me First And The Gimme Gimmes.  They're actually a "supergroup" of several different power-punk bands who occasionally get together and do covers albums of songs that are totally out of that genre.

Like this:

And how about this for a remake of another Simon and Garfunkel song (like Sounds Of Silence):

I've always like this song.  I even played it in Junior High band.

It's pretty haunting, isn't it? I love how the intensity of the vocals increase as the song progresses. It's from Immortalized.

I haven't heard either of those two covers before, and I'm not sure I have heard the originals either. The Gimmies are usually a pretty fun listen.

You never heard Barry Manilow's "Mandy"?

It was even featured in a Simpson episode.

And let's not forget this creepy cover.  The original bored me to death.  But the creepiness factor in this one makes it much more interesting to me:

I agree about the Marilyn Manson cover of Sweet Dreams

I disagree with the Disturb's version of sounds of silence being better than the original but I do like their version.
