More Rhino Bucket.  I like the guitar stereo effects in this one; plus it's just so "crunchy":

I was also listening to this today on my way back from having a cyst on my finger lanced and repeatedly injected with a steroid; ie, needles, needles and more needles.  So I needed something "nasty sounding" and this song seemed to fit the bill.

Eh.  That first one sucks; Sabaton does the "metal tribute" thing much better IMO.  The second song was OK but I don't like the "roaring background vocals" - I don't know what else to call it - in the chorus.

That sounds like it came right out of 70s AC/DC catalog. I like it.

Having that procedure doesn't sound fun!
Shocked

I agree with you on the first one. I don't mind the second one though.

Yeah that procedure sucked. It's a side effect of having osteoarthritis. There's a big bone spur at the last joint of my index finger and that causes the joint fluid to "leak" creating a cyst. I really like my orthopedic surgeon though and she made it bearable.

You've posted them before haven't you? I remember being shocked when she switched to growling.

I don't remember if I did or not. She's got a very sultry voice when she sings softly.

More Rhino Bucket today while I was running around doing errands (I took the day off). Like this one, one of my favorite RB songs:

But Floor DOES have a great voice.

Have you ever wondered what AC/DC would sound like as symphonic metal?

That's interesting but I don't think it works.

I think some of it works, but some of it doesn't. Kudos for them for trying to make the song in their own style instead of cloning the original.

That's pretty good. But In This Moment is hit or miss with me. I haven't thought of this band in years but the one album I have by them is The Dream which contains this track (which is the one that hooked me but unfortunately there was too much growling on the other tracks). But I still like this one:

It's not a band I'm too familiar with, but I heard this song and thought it was pretty good.

Wow.  A little context is needed for this one.

Squirrel has this nasty habit of "affection biting".  Lots of younger cats do it; you're petting them and they're purring and all of a sudden they nip you hard enough to draw blood.  So naturally I've been trying to break him of this.

So today he started doing it and I yelled at him.  "We don't bite!  Good Squirrel's don't bite!"  And, voila; this ANCIENT song by The Knack popped into my head.  Of course I replaced the word "girls" with "Squirrels" in the chorus but I hadn't thought of this song in literally decades.  But I remember back in the day when I had this album on vinyl, I actually liked this song better than their mega-uber-hit "My Sharona":

Side note: this is the "edited" version; in the album version the bridge said "when she's sittin' on your face..."

Like a lot of this type of music ("power pop") from that time, I find this has aged pretty well.  Damn, this song is 40 years old!!!! I have a ton of bands like this from around that same time (late 70s) and they all still sound pretty good to me.

I think I'm onto an idea for a new comp.  Stuff like The Knack and these:

And even more obscure:

And yes, I even managed to round up Pointed Sticks on CD (I only had four 45s that I had bought back in the late 70s and was even more surprised to find they had a comp on CD than when I found out Radio Stars and Tuff Darts were on CD - I mean these guys were really obscure, the 45s I have are imports bought at the local "head shop" back around 1979 or so. Although maybe not as obscure for you because they were from Canada

Good squirrels don't… Laughing
It's not really my thing, but the chorus is catchy.

The only one I've heard of it is Tuff Darts; you've posted them before. All three of them have a similar sound, they remind me of 70s "punk". I think my favorite of them is the one by Radio Stars.

Radio Stars are really good. There's actually a song on that album that has a guest spoken word appearance by the late Graham Chapman of Monty Python.

Dana Fuchs - Love Lives On

And here's the title track which I think shows off her "Joplin-esque" vocals which is what drew me to her in the first place:

Catchy. I was expecting something folksy at the beginning, especially with the strange name.
