It's one think to take a bunch of diverse styles and blend them or vary your style from one song to another on an album but not every 30 seconds within the same song, that's just annoying.

It's typical Alarm.  They get cast as "U2-wannabes" a lot and admittedly in the later stages of their career they sort of were but their early stuff is much closer to The Clash.  And Mike Peters solo stuff is really all over the place.  I just always wish Mike Peters the best because the poor guy has had cancer TWICE and yet he's still out there plugging away with his music.

I downloaded the latest album by his new Alarm band (he's pretty much the only original member) and I'm still not sure what to think of it.  Lots of programmed drums which I hate but I really like Mike's songwriting and that's still present.

Isn't the second part of the song pretty much the same as the first part?

Maybe I just got more into it by the end.

I like the live version of this better than the album version. I love the base playing.

I keep seeing the Acura commercial with Motorhead's cover of Sympathy For The Devil in the background. I actually think this is one of the better Motorhead songs I've heard; who knew Lemmy could actually carry a tune? I'm thinking about buying this covers album.

I hadn't heard that before. It's not too bad. His vocals still leave lots to be desired.

Is the whole album covers?

Yep.

And apparently he recorded this album when he knew he was dying.

I freakin' LOVE this song. I've posted it before but I totally forgot about it until today when I stumbled across the album on a flash drive.

Ahh, I was confused because the video referenced a different album.

Apparently Triddana released a new one in late June but listening to a few tracks on Youtube I'm kinda "meh" about them.  The new album is called "Rising From Within".  Check it out; see what you think.

It started off great with the first song, but soon became forgettable.

I'm sure I play this song at least a couple times a week.

Went back to an old standard today while running errands:

My favorite is Bar Time!

It's one of their best, for sure.

This is a new band from Britain.

Of course with that AC/DC vibe you know I like that! It's not as blatant an AC/DC sound as some bands but the influence is definitely there. Any idea what the rest sounds like?

I knew you'd like that! The rest of what I heard sounded similar.

I don't dig those second two as much as the first track. "Reality Bites" is pretty good because it still has a little bit of that AC/DC vibe but "Born To Be Great" completely throws that feel out the window.

Based on these three tracks this band reminds me of Pop Evil which is another band that can't seem to figure out its identity.
