No. I donīt think so. Dregen has been Mikeīs guitarist now seven years. And Backyard Babies are touring Europe next summer, so that camp is active.

You had to know these guys were right in my "wheelhouse".  Glam/sleaze/punk are my favorite genres and Backyard Babies has elements of all three.

Yeah. I knew it. My relationship with music goes in periods. At some time dark/gothic, then other time poppy/light, then classic heavy metal/hard rock/glam... sometimes fast and aggressive.

I have bands I never get tired of and BB is one them. There are also others in different genreīs.

What "dark/gothic" bands do you like?  69 Eyes is one of them I bet.

That would seem very obvious, but no. 69 Eyes donīt do much for me. I like some songs from them, but donīt care of the whole package.

But I looooove: Sisters of Mercy, Type O Negative, Paradise Lost...

And of course The Cure and Nick Cave And the Bad Seeds

I love Sisters too.  I wish they'd put out some new music.

Have you ever heard Rosetta Stone?

It thought of another one:

To/Die/For

If you're not familiar with them, they're a poppier goth rock/metal band:

But since they're from Finland I assume you already know them.

I like Haggard in small doses due to the vocals obviously.

I know them and actually have heard them live once. They have their good moments and that song you posted is great version of the original. They quit two years ago if I remember correctly.

Yeah I think they broke up.  Too bad.  I always liked their combination of goth, metal and pop.

I broke down and bought the Steven Wilson remix/deluxe edition of Heavy Horses.  It's called "Heavy Horses - New Shoes Edition" and it came in the mail today.

You have to see these reissues to appreciate them.  It comes in a book sized package and besides the remixed/remastered version you also get a 2 disc live performance from the same time period and a DVD in 5.1 stereo (which sadly I can't really appreciate because I don't have high-end DVD equipment).  There's also a 96 page glossy book bound into the package that includes extensive interviews with Jethro Tull band members and lots of cool pictures of the band at the time and the album photo shoots.

These releases have been done for Minstrel In The Gallery (which I have), Thick As A Brick and War Child.  There was also a Steven Wilson remix done for Aqualung (which I also have) but so far I think only those other album have gotten this "whole hog" treatment.

I haven't listened to the CDs yet but I already know they're going to sound like brand new Tull albums because the Minstrel and Aqualung albums did.  These releases also include multiple unreleased tracks recorded during the same recording sessions which is another reason I decided to buy the Heavy Horses one.  There are several songs here I've never heard before and since this is my favorite era of Jethro Tull I finally caved in and bought it.

I just bought that Greta Van Fleet album I mentioned several weeks ago.  One of the MLBN shows used "Highway Tune" during their show today which made me check out the band again.

Holy crap, do these guys sound like classic Zeppelin!  Check out this track which is album opener:

Maybe I'm just in a Zep mood today but I listened to several tracks and figured "What am I waiting for?"

Here's another one:

Wow, that is a heavy overhaul. Steve Wilson obviously did this is a labor of love as well. I had a look on Amazon.ca, just to see what that version costs. At $49.95, it's expensive but not outrageous for what you are describing.

You really should get a DVD 5.1 system. I've listen to some albums on them, and you pick up interesting things.

I just don't watch enough TV or listen to enough music to justify buying all the equipment. Since my giant furniture-sized speakers literally crumbled to dust (at least the rubber surrounding the woofers did) I haven't even had a stereo and I don't really miss it. My main DVD player in the living room is hooked up to my 55 inch HD TV so it uses the sound bar and the sub woofer but that's it. Nothing that I could really appreciate the nuances of 5.1 on.

It's almost TOO derivative but it's just so well done...I'm really curious to see where this band goes from here.  And to think they're all in their early 20s. I like that they do multiple aspects of the Zep sound; they do the acoustic and blues stuff as well as the harder sound.

It's a strange name for a band.

Found this band The Lazys on sleazeroxx today. They're an Australian band that's sort of in the AC/DC style but don't necessarily sound like AC/DC.  The album that was so glowingly reviewed by sleazeroxx isn't available yet anywhere that I've found; it comes out May 4.  I did investigate their earlier albums and while there is some outstanding stuff on them the SR review said those earlier albums were more hit or miss than this new one that's called "Tropical Hazards" (let the link I'm attaching keep playing and you'll see):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7ngGOlna0A

I'll be ordering this album once it's available; it's right in my wheelhouse.

I can hear why you like this. I can hear AC/DC in it, mixed with something else. The riff in the second song that played sounds even more like AC/DC.

In the first video, their appearance and visual style look like they should be playing some kind of hard-core or something.
