I know that song. I didn't even know they were the ones that sang it.

I've been scoping out their music on YouTube and some of it seems a little too "ballad-y" for me.

What album would you recommend?

I think their first is the best: Signs of life

I like that track too. I'll see what I can find from that album. Thanks for the recommendation.

EDIT: Wow! Their CDs are really expensive here. Fortunately the legal downloads are the same as most and I've overcome my fetish of having to have the physical copy.

Check out this weird track by The Hooters. It's from the last studio EP I have by them from 2010. It's in German or Dutch or something but it's catchy as hell. No idea what the lyrics mean but based on the title and the fact that I think I hear "bier" in there, I'd guess it's about drinking.

I've always liked that song. It's also the only song I know by Focus. But that's got to be an abbreviated version of it.

HAHAHAHA!Listening to it now. This song is definitely a product of another time. Can you imagine any label releasing this song now? No lyrics at all; just a bunch of weird yodeling and chattering. And flute and whistling.

That song would be DOA today. Which is a shame because weird and quirky as it is, let's face it, that song rocks.

Me too! It's just a completely bizarre song. I hadn't heard this live version before, but I like it. Of course I love the original. Like you said, it just rocks.

Have you heard Helloween's cover? It's the only other version I've heard before.

EDIT: I just went to search for what year it was done in (1971!!!) and found that there is actually a page that lists the lyrics. It's hilarious.

One of my favorite Nazareth songs. I don't know why this song isn't more well known.

Yep! I have that Helloween covers album. I think it's one of the better ones.

Now that's a funny name! They have to be combining Haystacks Calhoun with Rocky Balboa

Last I saw, their guitarist was part of Michael Monroe's band so I hope that doesn't spell the end of them.

You had to know these guys were right in my "wheelhouse". Glam/sleaze/punk are my favorite genres and Backyard Babies has elements of all three.
