Yes, it's 3 brothers in the band. Plus the 4th guy is supposed to be a close family friend. I sure hope this band doesn't get lost in the excesses of rock because with that kind of talent it should be fascinating to see where they go. The singer especially needs to take care of that voice; what an instrument that is.

I think the style of the band is over all like fresh mountain air in the mediocre and dull music scene. Thank you for this, because I didnt know this band before. Now I need to take a closer look to this. Awesome!

They remind me of the way The Answer started out. I lot of people compared The Answer to LZ too (although they've never been as close to that sound as this band is). The Answer then grew beyond that "retro sound" without losing it entirely. Until they laid a total turd with their last album.

If you've never heard The Answer you might like them too BD.

Michael Card - Dragonslayer

Ever heard of this guy OBF? I think he's a Bible professor now but I saw him in concert at Belmont College in Nashville back in the 80s. His early stuff sounds a LOT like Dan Fogelberg.

When I was engaged back then I actually had planned to use a Michael Card song called "The Wedding" as part of the ceremony. You can hear why; that's how far back my love of Celtic-y music and harpsichords goes.

I had a look on YouTube at some of his stuff. He certainly has a lot of it. I have never heard of him before. Both the songs have a little bit of a Celtic feel to them. I like them.

That's a little better than the other one but I still don't like it.

They never should have broken their stride with Gothic Turd. Ever since then they sound like they're making a conscious effort to re-create Lemuria/Sirius B (when they're not doing goofy French pop albums). It just sounds forced; it doesn't work for me.

Elton John (comp I made today). Ever heard this song? This is the last time I think Elton really rocked out:

Still listening to my Elton John comp.

Squirrel now has his own song. I always call him "Little Squirrely" and today while I was driving around listening to the comp "Little Jeannie" came up. You can figure out what happened while I listened to it.

Yeah I know it's not even remotely hard rock much less metal but EJ's music is one of those cases where I'm all about the song. Like most EJ songs this one is just so catchy IMO. And I love the sax solo in this version; I'm a sucker for sax solos. One thing to note about this performance, look at the people in the audience. This song was released in 1980 and this version was from a performance in 2000. There's no way most of the people they show in the audience could remember when this song was a hit.

The new album is 3 CDs, 46 songs, and 182 minutes long. It is definitely too much. It works as background music.

Unfortunately for everyone here, I'm back on a Ginger Wildheart kick. I've been spinning my ever-expanding Ginger comp (I added the Silver Ginger 5 disc I got a couple weeks back which is what got me started again). With around 250 tracks in the comp, some inevitably slip through the cracks and this was one of them. This one came up today and I swear I've never heard it before. It's from the Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed album which a lot of fans rag on but I think it's one of their best.

That's not too bad. I really like that singer in the background; great voice.

Toho. I have plenty of dark secrets. Though Im rock / heavy-metal type of a guy, I have developed a soft spot for a pop-bands like Depeche Mode, Hurts, Duran Duran.

Hurts is newest addition to my likey-list. They know how to write a hook.
