So.... What do you folks think about the new Metallica songs they have available? I love them, they have a very Master of Puppets vibe and quality to them and sound great. I can't wait to hear the rest of their new record.

I haven't heard them yet. If they sound like they are from that era, I'd like them.

I gave a listen to what I could find. Instrumentally, it sounded pretty good. However, I'm not sure if it was YouTube, but I could barely make out the vocals.

It is the best Metallica since "Master of puppets".

I am shocked to say this, because I thought that they are just gone. But, nope, they have come back.

Death Magnetic wasn't bad if you look beyond the fact it was 95% written right before Hetfield went to rehab and should have been released in place of Saint Anger.

I think it is a great album! I also thought Death Magnetic was great!

DM seemed like Justice meets the Black Album while Hardwired dips back to the 1st three mixed with "Black"! Both have some moments that drag abit but all in all they are a great return to form!

Except Unforgiven 3 on DM, put it to bed already! YUK!!!

LU LU and ST Anger shall never again twirl on my devices . Other than that Metallica is my favorite Band of all times. But then again they are calling Hardcore Heavy metal . This brings me full circle to the Sliver album of Earth Crisis.

I never got why so many people think Metallica are metal gods, they might be metal but in music only I rarely listen to them anymore as i cant stand them even in small doses and the rare instance i want to its not for very long

The only Metallica I own is the Black Album. And I never listen to it thanks to radio just playing the thing to death. I used to have Load, Garage Inc and a couple others and I traded them in a long time ago after I decided Metallica just wasn't my cup o' tea.

I still have a few Justice, Black album, Load, Reload, S&M,St Anger

Its not that they are my cup of tea or not its more that everybody around me thinks they are the best thing since sliced bread and I dont get it, they are trying to stay relevant when they should be moving on whether its on solo projects new band, etc..

They are respected and raved upon because they are trailblazers! They help start a new style of Metal and took it to the masses! They may not be the best Thrash band that would be a matter of opinion, my personal favs are OverKill and Megadeth, but they started something big and were not afraid to branch out even when they were shunned for it, they did what they wanted! I always find it odd when people called them sell-outs for Load and Re-Load! I don't personally love those albums but they were anything but sell-outs! They could have easily copied the Black Album and One, that would have been a sell-out!

Just my thoughts! Not the be all and all of Metal but Legendary all the same!!!

My Top 5 Metal would not be the same (or even exist) without them, in order would be:

1. Black Sabbath
2. Judas Priest
3. Motorhead
4' Iron Maiden
5. Metallica
