I just can't figure out how the Indians pitching is doing it. I've never even heard of most of these guys.

They are doing it because the Jays aren't.

I really hope the Dodgers beat the Cubs because if it's a Chicago/Cleveland World Series it will be over in 5.

At least it'll be somebody who hasn't wanted to a while. Of the four teams left, the Jays were the last ones to win it in 1993.

Yeah but Joe Maddon manages the Cubs.  I want to see that drought stretch on until he gets his smartass fired. It's all about him for me. I really don't hate the Cubs. I hate Maddon.

Geez, Miller comes and throws one pitch. Rally over.

Well that was an impressive 9th by Allen.

He gave up the leadoff double to Bautista then fanned Donaldson, Encarnacion and got Tulo on a foul popup.

First time the Jays have been shutout in their post-season history if I heard correctly.

I just hope the Indians can keep it going because I like them more than either of the two remaining NL teams.  I'm STILL pissed at the Dodgers for rolling over and dying for the Giants to keep STL out of post-season.  And of course the other NL choice would be The Chicago Maddons.

Someone needs to investigate how these umpires are chosen for post-season games.  First we had Joe West in the ALDS and now the equally if not even worse Angel Hernandez is behind the plate for the NLCS.

He's already blown a bunch of ball/strike calls for both sides.  He's simply terrible.  Always has been.  And he's another one of those umps who think fans buy a ticket to see him "perform".

They were shut out earlier in the series as well. The series was a microcosm of the struggles the Jays had this year. It was basically a boom or bust type of year; they scored a lot of runs, or they couldn't score.

Yeah, two of the worst umpires. Go figure…

The Jays have already announced that John Gibbons will be back coaching next year. I think he's a really good manager.

MLB Tonight has started calling Andrew Miller "The Kraken". They keep saying it's like Clash Of The Titans where everyone knows it's over once the kraken is released. So this morning they did a little photoshop thing showing Miller's head on the body of the kraken and each tentacle reached out and grabbed a different Blue Jay head. And after each one got grabbed they spliced in crowd shots of fans either crying, gasping, yelling or just generally looking dejected. It was pretty funny.

Not if you're a Jays fan I guess though.

He's a great pitcher. He's dominated the Jays all year. The Jays have gotten to many other closers and shutdown guys, but they couldn't get to him.

I wish we had a team Donaldson's.

Donaldson was without question his team’s best player in the post-season, batting .417/.462/.667 and scoring a team-high six runs. Donaldson leads the post-season with 15 hits, and even though he won’t play any more games, he could maintain that lead for some time, as the runner-up has 10. Six of those hits were doubles. No other Blue Jay had more than one.

I was just reading an article that said the Cardinals might be the leading candidate to sign Encarnacion. First base has been a revolving door for us for several years now and I think the club has given up on Matt Adams. We're going to be saving a bunch of money by letting Holliday walk so I'd be OK with a 2 or 3 year deal for Encarnacion. He's 33 so I'm not comfortable with much more than that unless it's for less money per year.

It would have blown the roof off I think especially if he came out as Rick Vaughn and to the song Wild Thing. I saw a petition to have Bob Euker do the broadcasts for the World Series. That would be cool too.

Go Cubs Go!!!! I am so pumped. First time in almost 80 years, now they need to break that 104 year curse and win one

It is pretty cool that somebody will be ending a long drought. Cleveland hasn't won the WS in 67 years, not as long as the Cubs but still a long, long time.

They just said on the local news that standing-room-only tickets to the WS at Wrigley are $2000 apiece (!).

I can't see that they would be the leading candidate. I would say Boston would be, especially with Ortiz retiring. I wouldn't be surprised if they offer him 3 or 4 years. I can't see Encarnacion taking anything less than 3 years at least 20 million per year. I would definitely rather see him go to the Cards than the Red Sox. I am still hoping he will re-sign with the Jays, as that's where he wants to be. I think as long as the Jays are competitive in their offer, he will take less money to be there.

It would've been great! I can't understand why they won't go for it.

I heard that some tickets are going for $12,000!

I just read that Fowler will be the first black Cubs' player to play in the World Series.

I'm pulling for the Indians. I know that they beat the Jays, and that sucks, but they are not an obnoxious team like the Rangers are some of the others that I really wouldn't have wanted. They are a small market team with a smaller budget that has not had much success for many years.

The comments:

Quote :
It seems clear to me. MLB is worried that nobody is going to watch a World Series featuring the Cubs, so they had to get someone involved whom everyone will be tuning in to see.

Quote :
How in the !!#$%^!ing !#%@#$ $&@# of all !#$ing !#$@^@dom does the MLB see his presence as a benefit to a World Series?

Quote :
is it wrong to hope that a liner say makes Joe West sprain an ankle so they have to have an injury replacement? Im not a fan of either team but I hate this guy

Quote :
After MLB chose 4 of the worst 5 umpires for the ALCS and NLCS, I wondered what they would do for an encore. Now we know. The worst umpire of our age gets to be center stage for the World Series. And you can be absolutely certain that Cowboy Joe will make sure the game is about him.

Apparently baseball fans agree that Joe West sucks.
