Well, having lived in the Northeast (PA and CT), the South (TN) and now the Midwest (MO), people in the Northeast are ruder than people in other parts of the country. I work with a couple people from the Northeast and we all agree that even we come across as rude to people from elsewhere even though we don't mean to.

Do you have anything like this in Canada OBF?  People you tend to regard with disdain because of where they're from?

I think many Canadians have an attitude like that toward Indians (meaning natives/aboriginals/indigenous peoples of Canada, not people from India). It is definitely a stereotype. Like all stereotypes, it is somewhat based on truth/facts and somewhat on misunderstandings and exaggerations.

See, basically from where I see it, it is an attitude adjustment afterall. I have noticed that, we usually feel agitated to hide many of our own undesirable habits (or ways or thoughts). It is easy to blame someone else (people, or group of people, or groups or countries, or .......) to overlook the short comings of what we believe we belong to.

This agitation can be on individual, and collective level, which gives rise to such situations.

Yes, it can be a way to distract or deflect away from our deficiencies our insecurities.

I love those trees. I have seen the same (or very similar) ones in Costa Rica.
