That is not joke in my area. It is reality. I have two cats who don´t go out, even though they want to.
Yesterday I released the other one to backyard and she ran there happy as a cat, until she realized that there is snow. You should have seen it how the awe changed first into a unbelief and then to pure terror. She ran in all fur up and looked me the rest of the day like I had betrayed her.

Most people have ice augers and drill round holes. Sometimes people just use a chainsaw and make square holes though.

I haven´t done at all ice-fishing this winter. But I have tied some flies.

US weather report told recently that it is going to be extremely cold spring in Finland.
Well. There´s no news to that. Year ago weather reported busted out laughing while reporting about spring weather.

At tops it is about +30 in celsius, 86 in fahrenheit. In july are usually the warmest days. At summer it is usually about 15-25 in celsius 59-77 in fahrenheit in my area.
