I have always loved this song, especially the version by them.

Yet another Simon and Garfunkel song that I like a lot better when someone other than Simon and Garfunkel performs it. Same goes for Bob Dylan songs.

I always thought the lead singer/guitarist was super cute, so that didn't hurt either. It's easily their heaviest song and they really nailed it. It's such a great riff.

This is a different kind of cover version.

I really enjoyed that! Maybe because I've always liked that song anyway but that's very creative.

I like Amorphis. I have two of their albums.

This came up on my walk today. This band's music is OK but not really that memorable but I really dig the woman's voice. I did some checking and she apparently did some backing vocals on other albums after this one but she only did lead vocals on the two Shiva albums. Shame.
EDIT: I dug a little more and Shiva apparently put out an album last year as "Zhiva" and Anette Johansson was still on lead vocals. I'll need to research that one.

That's not too bad. It does have an older sound to it. It's not what I was expecting.

I am going to Nevada (via Las Vegas) to stay in Boulder City next week. It's not too far from Vegas so we will go in during a couple of the evenings to see some shows. I saw that there is a St. Patrick's Day festival that lasts 4 days! There are Celtic dancers, shows, and 22 bands with "137 hours of rock" (There must be some at the same time.) It is all free (sponsored by the casinos, of course).
One of the bands listed is "The Arcana Kings", who I found out are from a city to the west of me. They do a remake of this song:

Just bought the new Black Crowes:

I didn't know they had a new album coming out. They sound pretty good, much like their early stuff.

This album is very much like the early ones; none of that weird, trippy stuff they put out when they were smoking too much weed.

I like that! That's a talented guy; he plays all those instruments and has two distinct vocal styles. His voice on the chorus is a lot different than on the verses.

He sure is talented. His vocal range is pretty wide; he can really hit the high notes. I know he played guitar in Sabaton but he also filled in on vocals for at least one show that I heard of where Joachim lost his voice.
It's one of those songs that gets in your ear. This version is certainly better than the original.

I came across this today. It has more Celtic punk than the usual "pirate metal" (as it was described).

Have you seen this yet? Apparently there was a PBS tribute to Elton John last weekend and Metallica performed my all-time favorite EJ song "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding". This is a great cover IMO.

Metallica can pull off a lot of things. I'm not surprised they could do this one.

I just stumbled across this track from Slash's new blues album. It features Brian Johnson on vocals. Blues isn't really my thing - I think it all sounds the same - but I had no idea Brian could actually sing like this. If I didn't have the video to prove it was him I'd have no idea who was singing.

OK, I had to look it up. First of all, in English it's "The Red Horse". Also, apparently it's a German kids song.

Pretty much like that; a cross between Celtic and sea shanty. Quite a few instrumentals if I remember right.
